Amendments to Chapters 38 and 67 of the Insurance Department Rules were filed with the Secretary of State for adoption on April 30, 2008, with an effective date of May 5, 2009.

The Insurance Fraud Prevention Division of the Nebraska Department of Insurance received information from brokers regarding a scam involving a California-based company targeting unsuspected victims nationwide. An investigation has begun and Nebraskans are asked to contact the division if they have had contacts similar to the following description.

The proposed rule implements the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. §§44-4308 and 44-4314 granting the Director of Insurance rulemaking authority to adopt and promulgate rules and regulations.
