The Director of the Department of Insurance has scheduled a public hearing as required by Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-901 to §84-909 for the proposed amendments of Title 210, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 86, REGULATION TO IMPLEMENT THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT FOR PURPOSES OF CONTINUATION OF COVERAGE FOR SMALL GROUP INSURANCE.
NIPR services will be unavailable beginning 7pm on 01/15/2010 through 7am 01/19/2010.
Beginning on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 7 pm Central Time and extending to Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 7 am NIPR and NAIC will begin a long weekend of system and hardware upgrades to modernize, expand and enhance the performance and quality of our services.
During this time all NIPR services will be unavailable.
We encourage our users to complete transactions, run reports or complete any other NIPR service prior to the January 15th date.
Bulletin CB-90 entitled, “Rate, Rule, and Form Filings” is hereby withdrawn effective October 29, 2009.
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the Nebraska Hospital-Medical Liability Act, the Nebraska Department of Insurance will conduct a public hearing concerning the surcharge contribution rates of qualified health care providers to the Nebraska Excess Liability Fund for the year 2009.
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., in the Fifth Floor Conference Room of the Terminal Building, 941 O Street, Suite 400, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508. Dated this 13th day of October, 2009

Section 48-120.04 of the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Act requires workers' compensation insurers to report claim and stop-loss threshold counts by Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) to the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court by October 15th of each year. Each reporter must provide a technical contact to the court by August 1st of each year. The Registration and Upload links are now available. Registrations are still being accepted. A validation program can also be downloaded.
The Director of the State of Nebraska Department of Insurance has scheduled a public hearing as required by Neb. Rev. Stat. §44-4227 on a proposed rate adjustment of the Nebraska Comprehensive Health Insurance Pool premium rates. The purpose of this hearing is to provide an opportunity for public comment on the proposed rate adjustment.
Chapter 86 of the Insurance Department Rules has now been filed with the Secretary of State for adoption.
Chapter 86 entitled, “REGULATION TO IMPLEMENT THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT FOR PURPOSES OF CONTINUATION OF COVERAGE FOR SMALL GROUP INSURANCE,” was created to allow insureds in employer groups in the small group market to obtain a subsidy for continuation of coverage if they are involuntarily terminated. The rule was filed with the Secretary of State on July 14, 2009, with an implementation date of July 19, 2009.
