The Nebraska Department of Insurance is committed to enhancing Speed to Market for all lines of insurance. Speed to Market will only be fully realized through the use of electronic filing. The best way to achieve this is through the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filings (SERFF) which was developed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

NOTICE - Online Renewals for Non-Resident Insurance Producer Licenses

Effective February 1, 2010, the online renewal period for Nebraska non-resident insurance producer licenses, through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) at www.nipr.com, will be extended to 90 days prior to the license expiration date. This replaces the previous 60-day period. All non-resident insurance producers may now renew their licenses online up to 90 days prior to the expiration date.

The Director of the Department of Insurance has scheduled a public hearing as required by Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-901 to §84-909 for the proposed amendments of Title 210, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 86, REGULATION TO IMPLEMENT THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT FOR PURPOSES OF CONTINUATION OF COVERAGE FOR SMALL GROUP INSURANCE.

NIPR services will be unavailable beginning 7pm on 01/15/2010 through 7am 01/19/2010.

Beginning on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 7 pm Central Time and extending to Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 7 am NIPR and NAIC will begin a long weekend of system and hardware upgrades to modernize, expand and enhance the performance and quality of our services.

During this time all NIPR services will be unavailable.

We encourage our users to complete transactions, run reports or complete any other NIPR service prior to the January 15th date.

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the Nebraska Hospital-Medical Liability Act, the Nebraska Department of Insurance will conduct a public hearing concerning the surcharge contribution rates of qualified health care providers to the Nebraska Excess Liability Fund for the year 2009.

The hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., in the Fifth Floor Conference Room of the Terminal Building, 941 O Street, Suite 400, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508. Dated this 13th day of October, 2009

The purpose of this notice is to advise all insurance companies, agencies and producers transacting business in Nebraska that the Nebraska Department of Insurance (Department) will immediately begin to accept self-reported actions on behalf of insurance producers or agencies through the National Association of Insurance Commissioners/National Insurance Producer Registry (NAIC/NIPR) Attachments Warehouse, which allows for the electronic filing of insurance producer licensing related documents.
