Medicare Supplement Coverage expands for people under 65 in 2025
LINCOLN, Neb. (1/17/2025) - The Nebraska Department of Insurance is reminding Nebraskans of important updates to the state's Medicare Supplement Insurance Minimum Standards Act starting in 2025. Under LB 852, which took effect Jan. 1, 2025, insurance companies that offer supplements to people aged 65 or older are now required to offer a Medicare Supplement option to people under the age of 65 who qualify for Medicare due to disability.
The Director of the State of Nebraska Department of Insurance has scheduled a public hearing on a proposed rate adjustment of Nebraska's prima facie rates for credit life insurance and credit accident and health insurance. The purpose of this hearing is to provide an opportunity for public comment on the proposed rate adjustments.
LINCOLN, Neb. (Dec. 13, 2024) - Health insurance provider Humana announced effective December 31, 2024, it will end contracts with Sanford Health, impacting Nebraskans in two counties in northeast and north central Nebraska.
