WASHINGTON, D.C. β The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is opening registration for its two-part "Key Fundamentals of Flood Insurance for Agents" webinar series, offering insurance professionals five session options throughout September 2026 to meet critical federal training requirements under the Flood Insurance Reform Act (FIRA) of 2004.
π Sessions run September 1β17 at two daily time slotsβ11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Timeβto accommodate varied agent schedules. π° The course is free to attend, though capacity is limited and early registration is strongly encouraged.
Course Overview
π The two-part curriculum covers essential NFIP operations, federal flood program rules, and advanced topics required by Section 207 of FIRA 2004. Attendees must complete both sessions consecutively to earn continuing education credits in most states and to fulfill federal compliance obligations. β Periodic engagement checks replace traditional exams, ensuring active participation without added burden.

Capacity is limitedβregister early to secure your spot. You must register for and complete both Part One and Part Two to meet federal FIRA 2004 requirements and earn continuing education credits in your state.
Continuing Education Credits
π Continuing education course approval and credits vary by state for insurance agents. Click Here for information about your state. Some states (e.g. California, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin) require that both parts of the course be successfully completed on consecutive days to receive any credit hours.
Currently, there are no continuing education credits available in Puerto Rico, Guam or the Virgin Islands.
